St. Joseph Hospital
Only 18% of people in Tanzania have National insurance and an even smaller percentage have cash to pay for medical treatment.
St Joseph’s hospital continues to treat the sick without paymentswhen the patients have no insurance or cash to pay for treatment The hospital is therefore performing charity treatment and therefore requires DONATIONS for essentials such as maintenance of run down and out of order equipment (see the following pictures).Your donations will be used to purchase the following:

INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
Today there is no Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or CT Scanner at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Nor is there space anywhere in the overcrowded 23 year old hospital building for these units. The maternity ward is the most overcrowded.
Therefore the Hospital management has commenced the construction of a 5 story hospital extension to house a new maternity ward and rooms for a ICU and a CR scanner.
This building is financed 80% by donations and 20% is all the government can affoard to invest.
€1.000.000 (one million dollars) is required in donations to complete the building ready for use with the ICU, CT scanner, beds & lighting.
Your donations even the smallest will help to save lives as in Tanzania 500 women out of 100.000 die during childbirth!

WDO’s resident management in Kilimanjaro have the task of working with the director of St Joseph’s Hospital to prioritize where best to use your values donations.
